Welcome to the Kansas Division for Early Childhood
Promoting high-quality learning by connecting practice, policy, and research
We are here to promote policies and advances evidence-based practices that support families and enhance the optimal development of young children (0-8) who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities.
We are the professional home of early interventionists, early childhood special educators, related services personnel and families of young children who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities in Kansas.
The Kansas Division for Early Childhood (KDEC) promotes the education of young children with developmental delays and disabilities and encourages and promotes professional growth and research as a means of better understanding the unique needs related to young exceptional children.
KDEC is a subdivision for the Division for Early Childhood (DEC) of the Council for Exceptional Children (CEC), which is the largest international professional organization dedicated to supporting families and young children who have or are at risk for developmental delays and disabilities.
